Body Polishing Procedure Process: Step by Step
1. Preparation:
You will be asked to undress and lie on a treatment table covered with towels for comfort and modesty. Disposable undergarments may be provided.
2. Cleansing:
The treatment begins with a gentle cleansing of the body to remove any surface impurities and prepare the skin for exfoliation.
3. Exfoliation:
An exfoliating scrub is applied to the entire body. This scrub typically contains abrasive ingredients such as sea salt, sugar, or ground coffee, combined with nourishing oils. The esthetician will use firm, circular motions to massage the scrub into your skin, focusing on areas that tend to be rough or dry, such as elbows, knees, and feet.
4. Rinsing:
After the exfoliation, you will either shower to rinse off the scrub or be wiped down with warm, damp towels. This step removes the exfoliant and any dead skin cells that have been sloughed off.
5. Mask Application (optional):
In some body polish treatments, a hydrating or detoxifying body mask may be applied after exfoliation. The mask is left on for a few minutes to allow the ingredients to penetrate the skin.
6. Moisturizing:
The final step involves applying a rich, hydrating moisturizer or body oil to seal in moisture and leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. The esthetician will massage the moisturizer into your skin, enhancing relaxation and promoting circulation.
7. Relaxation:
After the treatment, you are typically given a few moments to relax and enjoy the refreshed feeling of your newly polished skin.
